Thread, War, and Conflict

“Threads, War, and Conflict” presents a range of textile stories of violence and resistance. Exploring issues of gendered violence, killing and disappearance, and displacement and migration the exhibition touches on key themes addressed within the School of International Relations.

Throughout March and April there will be a programme of events to complement the exhibition to include textile workshops, film screenings, and academic discussions (see press release attached). These events will explore the intersections of textile art, politics, and violence and will be actively linked to research and teaching activities at the University of St Andrews and beyond.

The exhibition and associated programme is coordinated by Dr Lydia Cole, with Dr Faye Donnelly, Dr Laura Mills and Dr Natasha Saunders. The exhibition is hosted by the School of International Relations in cooperation with The Byre Theatre.
